Glass South America

Also this year, as for a long time now, Glaston participated in Glass South America exhibition in Sao Paulo from 8th to 11th June 2016 with an impressive stand.
This was also the edition which saw the return of Bavelloni brand after the corporate change of last July 2015.
The show represented, once again, the opportunity to strengthen the close relationship in this area between Glaston and Bavelloni, combination that produced, over the years, excellent results and consolidated our presence on the market as to sales of new machines and after-sales service, which is essential to customers.

As reported by Mr Angelo Leidi, Glaston Area Manager: “The number of visitors throughout the event was really considerable, not only from Brazil but also from neighboring countries, in particular Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Lower attendance from Central America – Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela – who prefer Glasstec exhibition in Germany and Las Vegas in the USA. Several offers were issued and great was the interest in Bavelloni products, who confirms to be among the leaders on the Latin American market thanks to the presence of three branches which provide local after-sales service. Some deals have already been closed and we are confident to finalize other negotiations in the next weeks despite the unfavorable exchange rate of the local currencies against the dollar and the euro. Unfortunately, Glass South America, is now the only reference exhibition for Mercosur customers since 2015, when ALUVI show in Argentina was cancelled and there are many doubts for the edition of 2017”.

On the stand we ran 3 machine models:

  • VE 350 11: vertical straight line edger with 11 wheels, undoubtedly Bavelloni best-selling product since it appeared on the market two years ago;
  • VB 350 CNS: vertical straight beveller, the best-selling model in the range of bevelling machines;
  • REV 372 SR: the first table on the market combining compactness, solidity and processing speed.

Thanks to the live demos, our customers had the opportunity to see firsthand the quality of the end products and the structure of our machines.

Mr Moreno Magon, Sales Vice President of Glaston South America, declared proudly:  “This fair exceeded our expectations; more than 350 companies from all over South America visited our booth this year and we signed several contracts during the show. However, the main thing is that our customers and most valuable friends in this field are starting again to make ambitious plans although the economic and political situation is not fully stable yet. As regards the pre-processing business, the two main novelties – Lamy cutting tables and the washing machines – have proved to be both successful, especially the cutting of laminated glass, which is continuously growing. At the fair we have also planned several service activities and this means that preventive maintenance is more and more required to avoid unexpected downtimes”.
